Off-Road trails
We have an extensive network of off-road trails tucked behind our main track where we host Gravel, Cyclocross and Mountain Bike sessions and racing. Our trails are a biodiverse, sustainable and all-weather network with thanks to the Rapha Foundation and British Cycling’s Places to Ride.
We run sessions for adults, women and youth riders and cater for all experience-levels – explore our calendar below or learn more about our different off-road disciplines further down.
Saturday morning MTB sessions are run by Herne Hill Youth Cycling Club for riders aged 6-18 with options for beginners, improvers and advanced riders.
Trails Calendar
All upcoming off-road sessions are listed in this embedded Google calendar (it’s easier to view on desktop than mobile).

Off-road riding
Cyclocross
Cyclocross (CX) is a high-intensity, off-road bicycle race on short, closed circuits featuring mixed terrain like grass, mud, sand, and pavement, plus obstacles that force riders to dismount and carry their bikes.
Come and learn the essential skills needed for this winter race-focused discipline. Suitable for confident cyclists of all abilities, Cyclocross is heaps of fun and can be ridden in all weathers.
Racing
We host Cyclocross racing throughout the year as part of the London and SE winter league, Rapha Muddy Hell our own Summer of Cross.
Mountain Biking (MTB)
Mountain biking (MTB) is riding off-road on rough terrain and can include technical skills like wheel lifts, jumps, and navigating other features. Competitive disciplines include Cross Country, Downhill, and Enduro.
Our off-road trails have plenty of space for riders to develop core mountain bike skills and push their endurance. We can also facilitate more advanced technical skills and encourage our riders to explore building their own features.
Racing
We run our annual Short Track Showdown MTB race for all levels.
Gravel / off-road
We also have sessions that aren’t discipline-specific and give you space to explore riding off-road in an open way – for example oru Gravel Club and weekly Women’s Off-road Session. You can come along with any off-road bike.
